sticking there in michigan in particular, romney -- it's romney's birth state, the birth state of the auto industry. and although now the governor is saying that it's essentially what he was calling for, president obama rescued the bailout -- it was his bailout of the auto industry that went over so well there. so how does that fare for the governor? >> well, i think the governor's had trouble answering that criticism that he would have thrown michigan under the bus. he said let the auto industry go bankrupt four years ago in an editorial in "the new york times," and president obama came in with a rescue package, and now the auto industry is up and running. and so the democrats and president obama have been beating romney about the ears with that accusation. but i think romney has a lot of pride in the fact that he was born and brought up in michigan, and he's trying to give president obama the impression that he's going to have to fight to win michigan as john kerry had to fight to win it back in 2004 by only three-and-a-half points. and john kerry was actually campaigning in michiga
